TARS - An Autonomous Driving Delivery Robot for Indoors and Outdoors
Self-Driving
TARS follows traffic rules and has more accurate delivery time without being affected by any weather conditions. It’s designed to work seamlessly for indoor and outdoor environment enable retailers and restaurants to deliver products more cost-effectively and sustainably. Merchants can leverage their physical store networks to provide a competitive advantage compared to current delivery mode.
All Weather-Proof
TARS navigates the sidewalks, pathways or any dedicated roads to deliver the items from restaurants and stores to doorsteps. With a customizable large compartment design, TARS can deliver more items per trip which is a significant advantage. TARS also delivers anytime of the day and navigate complex crowded areas for urban and suburbs under different weather conditions.
Sensing Ability
With TARS’ self-driving capabilities, it can provide deliveries in dynamic and time sensitive areas. TARS is able to conduct deliveries outdoors and indoors due to its contextual mobility navigation and sensory systems. Both LiDAR and camera systems to adopt the real world environment.
Management System
No matter where TARS go, they are always traceable and maintainable based on the fleet management design. The systems also include online ordering and tracking for end users.
Automatic Loading
To solve the entire last mile delivery issue, only the robots may not be able to automate the entire process. TARS can connect to the parcel lockers for automatic loading with self docking feature.
Wireless Charging
Not only that, TARS can also provide fast wireless charging to complete the charging process within 2 hours to increase the efficiency of robotic fleet.
HOW DOES TARS WORK?
1. The user places their desired order in their mobile devices
2. TARS proceeds to receive the order for delivery
3. TARS then proceeds autonomously for delivery
4. The users are notified via their mobile devices upon arrival of TARS
5. The user is then required to scan the QR code via TARS's rear cameras to access the storage
6. Users update their order's delivery status upon successful delivery via TARS

Stereo Camera
Waterproof Sonar Sensors
GPS/IMU
LTE/5G Support
Light Pole
Tail Lamps
USB Cameras
LED Indicators
Sensors & Alarm System
The LiDAR
The LiDAR as the main sensor provides L4 autonomous driving and obstacle avoidance abilities while mapping the environment
The Stereo Camera
The stereo camera on TARS triangulates the distance between TARS and obstacles/human to avoid collision.
The Sonar Sensors
Sonar sensors detect the dead range of the LiDAR and stereo camera to provide the estimated distance value in shorter range to avoid collision as well
The GPS/IMU
GPS & IMU work in tandem with each other to help increase the accuracy of localization of TARS
The Lights
Powers on during night hours for vehicles or people to notify the presence of the TARS robot along with an LED light pole
The USB Cameras
Low latency live streaming video to capture activities during the process of delivery to prevent unwanted incidents
The LED Indicators
LEDs will blink, ON and OFF to display the status of TARS to inform people around
The 5G/LTE Technology
This enables TARS to perform a large part of the delivery process autonomously and be tele-operated in certain circumstances for which it has not been programmed and monitored seamlessly with a very low latency and sufficient bandwith.
The Alarm System
High-pitched sound alarm to alert people around and send the signal to control center when it detects TARS being lifted
